West Stanislaus Ag Discharge Management Study

This report summarizes portions of the results from a three-year project identified as Pin471 conducted by the San Luis and Delta Mendota Water Authority (SLDWA) and funded by the Proposition 13 (Non Point Source) Funds. The project was entitled "Agricultural Discharge Management Program Monitoring and Evaluation-West Stanislaus County" (Agreement Number 04-169-555-01).

The study conducted extensive monitoring and evaluated four best management practices currently being used in Western Stanislaus County (WSC) for the control of sediments and pesticides. The four management practices are vegetated biofiltration systems, retention ponds, and in-field practices including constructed wetlands and the use of polyacrylamide (PAM).

Data from this study were used to develop implementation guidelines for growers.
